Bound in 3/4 leather and marbleized boards, gilt tooled spine with five raised bands, with eight engraved plates.Top edge of pages gilt. Foxing including on borders of plates. All plates present, frontispiece plate with condition issues.

Very interesting history of gold mining and camp life during the early days of the gold rush with informative and decorative plates.
