AUTHOR: PEARCE, Mrs. John N. (John & Jacqueline Kennedy). TITLE: The White House: A Historic Guide. PUBLISHER: WDC: White House Historical Association, 1962. DESCRIPTION: INSCRIBED BY JACK AND JACKIE KENNEDY SECOND EDITION. 1 vol., limited to 75 numbered copies this being copy #64, inscribed on the limitation page "For Chris with the affectionate regards of his friends John Kennedy and love from Jackie Christmas 1962", the "and love from" is in the hand of Jackie. The remainder of the inscription is in the hand of John, bound in full red morocco, title gilt to spine, covers double ruled in gilt, marbled pastedowns and endpapers. CONDITION: Minor rubbing to the head of the spine otherwise in VERY GOOD+ condition. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: The first limited edition was limited to 100 copies bound in green leather. The publication of this book was overseen by Jackie as part of her restoration and preservation of the White House. These were earmarked by the Kennedys to be given away as Christmas gifts to each member of the Kennedy administration and very close friends. This was their last official Christmas together. This item comes with a "COA" - Certificate of Authenticity.
