About the Item

This beautiful silver filigree work butterfly brooch dates to circa 1930 and would most likely have originated from Malta or Italy, where this fine work was popular. The brooch has a hinged pin which is stamped with continental silver marks and also fitted with a safety catch. The fine butterfly design has been finely hand made from silver wire, worked and soldered into numerous patterns and shapes to produce this beautiful brooch which is in very good original condition.
