About the Item

Dated to the late 19th century, this silver charm ring was crafted by the Miao peoples of Guizhou province and was believed to protect the wearer from bad luck and malevolent spirits. The ring band has a pierced, low relief design of a round gourd and a butterfly, surrounded by clouds and small flowers. This motif of a butterfly and a gourd was popular during the Qing dynasty and conveys blessings for a large family with many sons. Three chains hang from the face of the ring, each ending in a small bell that jingles as you walk. Ring band is adjustable. All jewelry sales are final. No refunds or exchanges.
