About the Item
Gold, Silver & Enamel Rainbow Trout Fishing Brooch.
An exquisite 9 Carat gold fishing brooch by Alabaster & Wilson, Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter (established in 1887). The fishing rod is of particularly fine detail and made using both yellow and white gold. The leaping fish has been beautifully enamelled on silver. Back stamped 'A & W, 9CT' and 'SILVER'. Comes in a 'Goldsmiths & Jewellers, Edmund Barrett Ltd. 26 & 28 The Drapery, Northampton' jewellery case. We believe this brooch to be Edwardian but there are no hallmarks to date as such and it is difficult to date.
