Rebajes Sterling Silver Ubangi Brooch, Master Modernist Jewelry Artisan

About the Item

1950s ubangi woman pin is among the most striking of artist Rebajes pieces. Seldom seen sterling silver version, as most Rebajes pieces are in copper. It is jigsaw cut with wrapped wire throat, wire earrings curled hair and characteristic oxidized areas bringing out contrast and depth in this design. Rebajes work is shown in the Museum of Modern Art and is one of the early masters of Modernism. This Rebajes Ubangi pin is in excellent, original and unpolished condition with a secure safety clasp and has the Rebajes unmistakable signature on the base of the pin. Size: 1 7/8 x 3 inches.
