About the Item

Emile Hurtré French Art Nouveau Billiard table. Made by award-winning artisan E. Gueret (Médaille d’Or 1889). Hurtré is best known for his architectural projects and designs, notably the interior of the famous Parisian restaurant ‘La Fermette Marbeuf’ just off the Avenue Georges V and near the Champs Elysées. This is a unique billiard table made of walnut wood and styled ‘à trois bandes’, so named for the rule that the player’s queue ball must first rebound off three sides before hitting the opponent’s ball. Recently restored by Chevillotte in Paris who laid new baize cloth to the table.
