We are delighted to offer for sale this absolutely massive very rare circa 1950s Alfred Dunhill solid mahogany games compendium box What a find! This box is amazing, a normal Alfred Dunhill box with nothing inside would retail around £5000-£8000, its solid mahogany and has a nice painting in the middle top which sits inside a gold gilt bronze frame Inside the piece is stamped Dunhill and made in Italy in the top. In the base you have a roulette wheel, dominos, cards, canasta instructions and scoring cards, two packs new in the original packaging, removable trays with all different kinds of chips, two removable trays each one holding cut glass ashtrays, a full chess set with gold plated detailing, a set of normal dice and another set with card numbers and characters on. In the top you have the chess board, the felt roulette cloth and a foldable chip shovel This is as mentioned a real gem, I imagine the retail would have been something like £15,000 new, its as luxurious and high quality as I have ever seen from Dunhill It will be cleaned waxed and polished prior to dispatch, the condition is really first class, there are some light patina scratches to the other box but they are very light. I could have the box professionally restored to retail new condition for a small fee but really the condition is so good its not necessary Dimensions: Height 15cm Width 60.5cm Depth 38cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
