About the Item

This elegant paperweight from the early 20th century is expertly crafted of cut glass and floral silver overlay in the manner of Art Nouveau. The translucent glass cube is shaped with chamfered corners and encased within a silver lattice of flower blossoms and trailing vines, engraved with delicate linework for added detail. The tapestry of silver leaves weaves around the paperweight on all sides, surrounding a small blank monogram plate to one surface and casting curious shadows within. From the collection of Frances and Gary Comer.
