Located in Mortsel, BE
This fascinating collection of vintage hand-crank sewing machines, originally designed as toys for children, showcases a wide range of models produced throughout the 20th century. These miniaturized machines were often gifted to young girls, allowing them to learn basic sewing skills while also sparking creativity and craftsmanship at an early age. Beyond their educational value, they are a testament to the industrial craftsmanship of the time, representing the same intricate mechanisms found in full-sized sewing machines. Brands like Singer, Vulcan, Regina, Elna, and Casige are well-represented in this collection, each with their distinct designs and color schemes. Singer, one of the most well-known names in sewing machine history, produced smaller versions of their famous models. Similarly, Vulcan from the UK crafted vibrant red and blue machines, while Regina and Casige from Germany offered delicate, beautifully painted versions. These machines are cherished for their durability, functionality, and charming designs, making them highly collectible today. The first known toy sewing machine...
