Presented is this stunning Moonwalkers Autographed Collage, celebrating the hard work, bravery, and courage of the 12 men who have walked on the Moon's surface. The collage is made up of the following elements (listed from top left to bottom right): A Gene Cernan signed and inscribed NASA portrait photograph, a Harrison Schmitt signed and inscribed NASA portrait photograph, a Buzz Aldrin signed Lunar Module photograph, a John Young signed and Charlie Duke signed and inscribed photograph of the Lunar Rover on the moon, an Apollo 15 First Day Cover signed by Dave Scott, Al Worden, and Jim Irwin, a Neil Armstrong signed and inscribed NASA portrait photograph, an Apollo 12 crew photograph signed by Charles Conrad, Jr., Alan Bean, and Richard Gordon, and an Apollo 14 crew photograph that is signed by Alan Shepard, Jr. and Edgar Mitchell. In the midst of the Cold War, President John F. Kennedy delivered a speech stating his intent to place a man on the moon: "I believe that this nation should commit itself to achieving the goal, before this decade is out, of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the Earth. No single space project in this period will be more impressive to mankind, or more important for the long-range exploration of space; and none will be so difficult or expensive to accomplish." The effort to place a man on the Moon was named Project Apollo. Through multiple attempts, the United States NASA program was prepared to complete their voyage with Apollo 11. Apollo 11 successfully landed the first two people on the Moon on July 20, 1969. A total of twelve individuals have walked on the Moon in the nine Apollo missions that occurred between December 1968 and December 1972. This collage commemorates these moonwalkers with signatures, original photographs and first day covers, and even mission patches. CONDITION: Very good condition overall. Signatures are legible, with almost no fading. The signed first day cover and photographs are all archival-mounted in a custom-built frame. Framed Dimensions are: 47 1/2" H x 45 1/2" W x 2 1/2" D.
