About the Item

Revolving counter display for gum candy by Wrigley's. This is an antique revolving counter display of five sides created in America during the art deco period, back in 1920's. The display was crafted by the Wrigley's candy company with parts made up in chromed steel, lucite, bakelite and lacquer. This dispenser held multiple packs of Wrigley's Doublemint Chewing Gum, a classic mint gum first introduced in 1914 and known for its unique flavor derived from both peppermint and spearmint oils. These dispensers were commonly found in stores, diners, and other public places as a convenient way for customers to purchase gum. While the exact model and year are not specified, the design suggests an older, perhaps collectible, piece of advertising memorabilia. The packs inside are traditional 5-stick packs, which were individually wrapped and easy to share. The Wrigley Company They are a confectionery giant known for its chewing gum, began as a soap and baking powder business founded by William Wrigley Jr. in Chicago in 1891. Wrigley initially offered chewing gum as a premium with baking powder purchases, but the gum proved more popular, prompting him to focus on its production and sale. The company's success is built on iconic brands like Juicy Fruit, Spearmint, and Doublemint, and a strong commitment to quality and advertising. Country: Chicago, United States.
