17th Century Wrought Iron Nuremberg Antique Miniature Strongbox Casket

About the Item

European miniature strongbox, dated circa 1600-1700. This little special piece has a beautiful metal color with patina of time and amazingly rich decorations, characterized especially by the outside hobnails and the engraved lock. The nice lock mechanism, fixed on the top cover, is perfectly working and complete with its key. The chest rests on its decorated base made in wrought iron and the keyhole has a covering lid when closed. Those miniature stongboxes were typical from Germany, specially in the Nuremberg area with one of the main manufacturers being Michael Mann.
