Exhibition Quality 3.5" Live Steam Model of a GNR Sterling No. 1

About the Item

A fine example of a 3.5" live steam locomotive, The Sterling No1 or 8-footer one of the best known and fasted 4-2-2 steam locomotives of its time. Built in Doncaster from 1870 the original No 1 is in the National Railway Museum in York. This superb model doesn't appear to have ever been steamed and has a label for the Southwark Model company. Sizes are for the Locomotive, stand sizes 46" wide, 14" deep, 2" high.
