About the Item

Very rare radio and DJ cabinet designed and produced by Aldo Tura for the Tura Milano company of the same name in the late 1960s. The cabinet is entirely upholstered in tobacco-dyed goatskin, or parchment leather, with details, profiles and elements in solid brass combined with fume plexiglass. It features a plexiglass vinyl compartment and a cherry wood cassette storage door, has a large upper compartment where the instrumentation is located, covered by a brass and plexiglass door. The interior is custom made built-in and there is a Sansui record player, a radio, also Sansui, and an AKAI cassette player, the height of Japanese technology at the time. It should be noted that all instrumentation is original to the period and fully functional. The cabinet is in excellent condition, the leather is virtually flawless and there are no scratches or marks on the plexiglass, there may be some minor signs of time given its almost 60 years old, as per the photographs. There is the TURA Milano Italia manufacture mark under the instrument compartment. This item seems to be more unique than rare, custom-made for a customer at the time and currently the only one ever presented to the market, so it remains a piece for true connoisseurs and collectors of one of the highest expressions of Italian design and manufacture of the time.
