About the Item

This is an absolutely exquisite rare Cooper-gilt ,silver-gold and three Sterling Silver angels Chalice originated from Augsburg (Germany ) in the 1500. The Goblet is 21cm high, diameter 10 cm and its weight is 420 gr. which is almost one pound! It has an inscription at the bottom which states the name of a holy Franciscan Monk serving in Central Europe for Franciscan Church of Rome. The Franciscan Monks and priests were the first settlers in Augsburg Germany sent by the Vatican from Pope Innocent III . Augsburg was the first German city where in 1210 Franciscan Order had found their Headquarter. The exact inscription at the bottom of the Goblet translates into “Father Bono Micijic, Franciscan Church of Rome”. The Chalice typically for this time period is hand hammered ,giltet with silver and gold surrounded by three sterling silver angles . This Chalice is an extremely rare find being related directly to the Vatican in Rome. It is a truly unique piece for an art lover or collector or/ and can be used for special ceremonies and weddings as a family relic. It comes with the antique beautiful wood, silk and velvet treasure box.

This is an extremely rare and absolutely magnificent filigrane made 18th century silver spice tower. It has been crafted in Germany and hallmarked in two places with number 12. The German and Austrian hallmark in the 18th century, which was called Lot/ Loth and was used to indicate proportion of precious metal content in any metal object. The base of the tower is square and has an intricate ornamented leaf design, the silver ball connects the base and the main part of the tower. In the middle there is a small movable door which opens to the outside and has an engraved Hebrew letter Tav in an old font. It’s the last letter of the Hebrew Alphabet and translates as “truth”. It symbolises truth, perfection, and completion. The tower has six gemstones on it, four red and two dark green. The design remains filigrane and fragile from the bottom to the top on all sides and at the tip of the tower there is a flag in an arrow shape.
