Antique Statue of Virgin Mary and Child , 19th Century

About the Item

A Pine Carving of Virgin and Child signed E. Lechner. Carved in 15th Century style, a high relief with a hollowed back and depicting the crowned Virgin standing on contrapose with long curly hair flowing down her back and a billowing cloak over a draped, girded gown. The naked Infant with curly hair stood on her right arm holding an orb in one hand with the other raised up to her crown. Likely to be 19th Century, signed 'E. Lechner' inside back, 42 inches (107 cm) height
