Rare and beautiful bronze Art Deco Christ wall sculpture.
Some works of religious art depict Christ in terrible agony, but this symmetrical specimen from the European Art Deco era is ofcourse a Holy Heart in a cross-like manner and here Jezus radiates nothing but piece and calm. The talented sculptor Norga here has perfectly managed to capture the fact that He was in a different realm alltogether. Other impressive (Art Deco) features are ofcourse the entire symmetrical and stylized design of this Holy Heart wall plaque, including the symmetrically draped cloth around His entire body. This sizeable bronze crucifix with its stunning patina weighs just under 20 pounds lbs and thanks to the hook on the back it can easily and safely be mounted on your wall. Belgian artist and sculptor Sylvain Norga left his name in the lower right corner just below Christ's feet (see image 14).
