Mexican Modernist double sided sterling silver cross inlaid with malachite, carnelian and lapis lazuli
20th Century
This finely crafted double sided cross is composed of oval and circular gemstone inlaid panels on one side and a shaped design with silver twist wirework on the other side. the circular rondels are inlaid with lapis lazuli and the elongated oval panels have malachite and carnelian inlays. Malachite is connected with good fortune, travel and wealth; carnelian, with health, luck and royalty; and lapis lazuli, with spirituality, wisdom and healing.
