About the Item
This exceptional mezuzah is meticulously hand-carved from authentic Jerusalem stone, originally part of the Western Wall. These historic stones, uprooted due to structural shifts over 70 years ago, were later repurposed to cover marble sinks used for ritual handwashing at the Kotel.
Renowned artist Gideon Bustani masterfully sculpted this mezuzah, preserving the stone’s natural texture while depicting a deeply moving scene: Jewish worshippers praying at the Western Wall. The intricate carving portrays figures wrapped in traditional tallitot (prayer shawls), standing in devotion before the sacred stones, bringing to life the timeless connection between the Jewish people and the Kotel.
Above this powerful scene, the Hebrew letter "Shin" is boldly engraved, representing "Shaddai," one of God’s sacred names, signifying divine protection. The background features a detailed relief of the Western Wall’s stonework, adding further authenticity and depth to the piece.
Inside the mezuzah, a natural ruby stone is embedded—traditionally believed to offer protection against the evil eye. The back of the mezuzah bears Gideon Bustani's initials (GB) as a mark of authenticity. Accompanied by a gemological certificate, this one-of-a-kind artifact is not only a symbol of faith, devotion, and historical continuity but also a sacred reminder of Jerusalem’s eternal spiritual significance.
A truly extraordinary mezuzah, this piece embodies the soul of the Western Wall and the enduring power of Jewish prayer.

A Mezuzah Case by Chava Wolpert Richard, New York Circa 1970, Judaica
Located in New York, NY
A Modern Mezuzah Case made by Chava Wolpert Richard in New York Circa 1970.
Chava Wolpert Richard was an artist who dedicated her career to the creation of Jewish ceremonial art. Growing up in the shadow of her father, Ludwig Yehuda Wolpert — one of the most influential innovators of modern Judaica of the twentieth century — she soon carved out her own career and came to be recognized as an artist in her own right.
Richard brought several innovative practices to the art of Judaica. For example, her mezuzah cases of the early 1960s were made of aluminum coated with phenolic.
This Mezuzah case is one of the classic examples of the modernistic designs. Reverse and rounded sides are made of aluminum and the front center is coated with phenolic. The front black panel fits smoothly into its rounded sides where a mezuzah scroll...
