A French brass freestanding tea scale from the 19th century mounted on a wooden base. Born in France during the politically dynamic 19th century, this tea scale features a central shaft supporting the two brass scoop plateaux hanging from each side, one connected to a chain, the other one to a solid brass hook. Mounted on a rectangular wooden base with beveled edges, this 19th century French brass scale will bring a touch of history and tradition to any home, perhaps displayed as a decorative object in a kitchen, living room or dining room.
