About the Item
Scandinavian Modern Ericsson "COBRA" mint green vintage rotary phone 1950s. This phone was made in Ohio and is in very good condition with no issues. It does dial out but does not ring when receiving a call. Researching the Ericofon, we learned that some came with ringers while others were extensions.
Embossed on the dial is ERICOFON - NORT ELECTRIC COMPANY, GALION, OHIO
Measurements: 4 inches deep x 3 inches wide x 6 3/4 inches high
The Ericofon was designed by a group of Scandinavian scientists which included Gösta Thames, Ralph Lysell, and Hugo Blomberg for L.M. Ericsson in the late 1940s and was first produced in 1954 in Sweden. In 1956 Ericsson bought a majority interest in North Electric Company of Galion, Ohio and began producing the Cobra in the United States.
