Siebe Gorman Fire Fighter Smoke Mask
About the Item
This is an early Siebe Gorman & Co. Ltd. smoke mask. These full face helmets are very rare and found mostly in museum collections. This example looks and feels like it´s never have been used in action. Soft lether, no stains or dirt inside, no smell. Probably purchased by the Fire authority in Östergötlands county in Sweden. The helmet retains the double hoses coming to the back which supplied fresh air from someone on the outside that operated a foot pedal bellows. The helmet is made of hard leather with a soft leather collar piece and has a vent at the top. These are getting exceedingly scarce to find in this good condition. Temporary stand not included.
