Particular Trophy of an Abnorme Moose from a Noble Estate, circa 1930s A particular trophy of an abnorme moose (Alces alces) from the palace of Salem in South Germany. It was shot by a member of the lordly family of Baden ca. 1930s, mounted on a wooden plaque. Good condition with paint abreasions on the plaque. Measures: Width 22.83" (58cm) Height 15.75" (40cm) depth 9.45" (24cm) Trophies are mementos from the hunted game, which are kept by the huntsmen as a souvenir or decorative item. For many centuries it was a tradition to collect trophies.
