An unusual and remarkable 19th-century Victorian snuff box decorated with a mounted ram's head. It is topped with a lidded silver-plated bronze container for storing snuff. The ram's head rests on a tiered wooden base, elegantly adorned with silver-plated bronze trim, and is supported by four silver-plated feet, giving the piece presence and balance. This rare and highly decorative object combines naturalistic taxidermy with fine Victorian silverwork.
