Antique Chinese Burl Wood Snuff Bottle

About the Item

Antique Chinese burl wood snuff bottle with a large auspicious three legged toad on the front in high relief, overall oval shape with oval foot rim and countersunk flat base, adequately hollowed, small round neck, jade stopper, stained and carved organic material spoon, custom wood support stand and fitted storage box. Excellent patina and condition. Bottle: 2-3/4 in. high x 1-7/8 in. wide x 1-1/4 in. deep. Bottle and stand 3-1/2 in. high x 2 in. wide x 1-1/2 in. deep. 1.4 oz. (41g.) 19th century. Provenance: Constance Margaret Goldney, Ightham, Sevenoaks, Kent. The Goldney Collection of Oriental Artefacts 23rd March 2009, Wellers Auctioneers, Surrey, lot #383.
