Mid-Century Lucite, Rattan and Brass Lighter and Box Set
About the Item
This stunning smoking set features a lighter and a box in crystal clear Lucite with real cane-work or rattan inclusions and was manufactured in the 1970s. The tobacco accessory set comprises a gaslighter and a square-shaped box for matches. The square container has a gilded brass base and Lucite with embedded canework on the lid. There is no visible maker's mark, but the design is reminiscent of the Christian Dior Home Collection with Lucite and rattan work.
The gaslighter appears to be functional, but it may require gas and a new stone. However, we cannot guarantee its technical performance due to its age. However, the lighter's gas metal tank and the mechanism are standard and can be replaced by a new one.
The smoking set is in good condition, with a tiny chip (still in position) on the underside of the lighter (check the close-up).
Measurements:
Box: 2.57 in wide (6.5 cm) x 2.57 in deep (6.5 cm) x 0.82 in high (2 cm).
Lighter: 2.94 in wide (7.5 cm) x 2.94 in deep (7.5 cm) x 2.75 in high (7 cm).
