Monogrammed Oak and Silver Plate Tobacco Jar or Ice Bucket with Shield Cartouche
About the Item
Elevate your collection with this superb Victorian-era English tobacco jar, expertly crafted from richly grained solid oak and adorned with a silver-plated lid and handle. The cylindrical form features elegant hand-turned shaping with gentle curves and a beautifully worn patina that speaks to its age and craftsmanship.
The round lid is crowned with a classic finial and secured to a silver plate collar, adding an air of refined utility. The front bears an engraved shield-form cartouche monogrammed "BJBA", adding a touch of bespoke sophistication. The inside of the piece is made of ceramic and framed by the wooden exterior. A top-mounted bail handle completes the piece, allowing it to function as both a display object and a functional storage piece.
Originally used to store pipe tobacco, this charming piece would now be equally at home storing tea, wrapped sweets, dog treats, cotton balls, or even serving as a unique desktop organizer.
