A petrol desk-lighter designed by Sarastro
This is a beautiful petrol desk lighter created in Pforzheim Germany by the Sarastro Industries Company, back in the late 1925. This lift-arm style lighter is the rare Corona-Coronita ball model, crafted with art deco patterns in solid brass and nickel with high polished finish. The design of the lighter is very simple and efficient.
Brand: Sarastro Industries.
Model: Pullman Lift-Arm Ball desk petrol lighter.
First Produced: 1925.
Material: Bronze and nickel plated bronze.
Weight: 123.5 Grams, (0.13 Kg.).
Measurements: 54 mm by 42 mm by 42 mm (2.13 x 1.65 x 1.65 Inches).
Hallmarks: Stamped with German marks, the maker's mark, the model name and signed in full as follows; "SARASTRO CORONITA 401-311 PULLMAN".
Literature: Elon Baldwin, The Lighter Library, his website for this piece illustrated.

This is a rare antique desk liquid-petrol lighter, created in London England by the luxury brand of Alfred Dunhill, back in the 1929. The unusual lighter is the iconic ball shaped model named Unique with the Dunhill lift arm retailed in Paris France. The lighter has been assembled and carefully crafted in the shape of a ball in solid sterling silver with plain surfaces. This lighter show very nice condition with minimal traces of use and beautiful guilloche. Recently cleaned and serviced, not polished just to preserve the antique patina.
