About the Item
Outstanding, limited edition, hand carved, estate European Turkish meerschaum pipe is in unused, pristine condition and is a rare and very fine smoking collectable for a pipe aficionado. Pipe depicts the noble head of Napoleon on a pearlized stem, with a very deep bowl. Pipe is hand carved by renowned master carver Ismet Bekler for CAO, Turkey. Includes original, velvet lined leather storage case. Case is slightly worn.
Incised on the bottom, “Napoleon ’78 No. 18 of 50”. Interior of case labeled, “MEERSCHAUM BY CAO HANDCRAFTED OF THE FINEST BLOCK”. Signed, “I. Bekler CAO”.
Measures approximately 6” long x 2” wide x 2.5” tall.
Weighs 4.9 ounces with case.
Meerschaum is also known as magnesium silicate. It is a light weight, soft white clay mineral block which is hand carved. As the pipe is smoked, it acquires a rich patina.
