Antique Victorian Key Wind Mechanical Large Black Bear Child's Toy, As Found

About the Item

This antique mechanical toy is unsigned, but presumed to have been made in Europe, possibly England or Austria in approximately 1880 and done in the period Victorian style. This large toy is a black bear with articulated arms and mouth. The mechanical mechanism has been over wound, and is currently not working, but it is presumed that the bear would have poured from the bottle to the cup and then raised it to his mouth to drink. The bottle is clearly missing, and there is general wear tot he toy as presented in the photos, and consistent with age and use.

The mechanical mechanism has been over-wound and is not working, and we do not believe the key we have is original, but period correct and fits the mechanism. The bottle is missing and some of the fur is loose, and overall wear as presented.
