About the Item
I am selling off my collection of mechanical banks, and this one was definitely one of my favorites. As I was taught by an expert in these banks over 40 years ago that "paint is the name of the game". The condition of the paint is paramount in pricing these banks. This example has excellent paint, all original, and the original glass eyes.
To operate place the penny on the flat section of the bulldog's nose, then press down the lever in the back of the dog and watch the coin plop into his mouth. These antique banks were made to urge children to save their pennies, when a penny was worth something.
The condition of this bank is really remarkable when you consider they were played with by children.
