Wooden Ko Verzuu Toy Cart in beautiful original condition.
Manufactured by Ado Holland (Arbeid door onvolwaardigen) founded in 1925.
This Cart stil has the original paint, wheels and rubber tires.
It can be pulled by a rope with a wooden handle and comes with the original wooden blocks.
It’s a great toy or a beautiful decoration piece.
Marked: Ado
Ko Verzuu toys were made between 1925 and 1962 and were very desirable at the time.
He was very interested in architecture and art, and he was inspired by the abstract lines and bright colors from ‘De Stijl’ and Gerrit Rietveld which you can clearly see in the design of his toys. The quality of each and every toy was tested by Ko Verzuu’s 11 children.

Ko Verzuu
Ko Verzuu was a former construction supervisor from Utrecht, led the Arbeid Door Onvolwaardigen (ADP) workshops. In addition, he designed the cars, building blocks, games and doll furniture that were hand-made by his team of patients. Verzuu tested the quality of his toys on his children. He immersed himself in art and architecture, with which he developed a strong preference for abstract lines and bright colors found in the 20s group, De Stijl. ADO toys, therefore, are curiously avant-garde, inspired by the great artists of the time. In 2012, they were on show as part of the “Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900–2000” exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, New York. The same year, the CODA Museum in Apeldoorn, Netherlands.
