Nineteenth century American Birdcage in the Orientalist style. The wire bars with tin hoops at base, center, and top forming cylindrical cage, two cast zinc doors inscribed 'J. MAXHEIMER'S / PATENT JUNE 3 1882 NY' at bottom, a scalloped cornice painted blue and red crowning the shoulder below onion-shaped dome surmounted by wooden finial with tin base from which a ring perch hangs, mounted on octagonal painted tin stand with pierced gallery rim raised on eight ball feet
