Vintage Hendryx Birdcage
About the Item
An elegantly crafted and charming vintage birdcage. Made with brass and steel wire.
The top of this piece has an intricately cut light green leaf design. The bottom is adorned with small chunks of glass. A miniature bird cage stands in the top half of the cage with a miniature of a red cardinal. Small rocks sit at the bottom for decorative purposes to resemble gravel.
“Hendryx” is marked on the bottom of the tray, indicating they are likely the manufacturer. This is in reference to the Andrew B. Hendryx company, a name synonymous with elegant bird cages. This brand dates back to as early as the 1870’s.
In good condition. Gentle wear consistent with age and use. Would make a wonderful addition to any breakfast room or sunroom. Great for small birds or decoration.
