Antique Lady Liberty Bookends in Carved Mahogany, 19th Century, Set of 2
About the Item
A set of exceptionally well-made mahogany bookends depicting bare-breasted Venus or Libertas in Eugene Delacroix’s masterpiece: 'France Sees Liberty'. It does not take much to see that these were made to a special client. Just take a look at the hair and scarf in particular. Very difficult details to master in a hard wood like mahogany. Both hand carved from one solid piece of mahogany. Not The bigleaf mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) that requires Cites. So the set can be freely exported World wide. Measurements: H: 22 cm, W: 14 cm, Dept: 10 cm
Free World wide express shipping.
