Mid-Century Hand Carved Alabaster Owl Sculptures with Glass Eyes Bookends 1950s
About the Item
Beautiful, meaningful, practical and decorative mid-century bookends.
Given the fact that owls are the international symbol for wisdom and learning, these are the perfect sculptures for book-ends. These fine sized, hand-sculpted alabaster owls are beautiful in shape and color and they are a true joy to own and look at. What also makes them special is that they are in a mirrored position. Both have the original and perfect condition glass eyes that seem to look at you from every angle. The square bases of these bookends too are handcarved. It must have taken a true artisan a serious amount of time to first draw and design and then hand-sculpt these unique owls out of a beautiful rock of alabaster. Apart from one repaired ear, these quality carved, superb condition and weighty owl bookends from the midcentury era also make a great gift for a teacher, student, an author or any other individual with a more than average interest in books or in sharing, spreading and gaining knowledge.
These rare and all handcrafted bookends too are great value for money. Also, because perfect packing and worldwide shipping from our store to your door in just 4 to 6 days are complimentary.
