Pair Chinse Antique Jade Red Agate Bookends Engraved Solid Brass

A rare, beautiful pair of antique Chinese bookends. Showcasing the beauty of translucent white jade with clarity almost to transparency, hand-carved depicting a graceful phoenix amid profusely blooming peonies, framed by delicately engraved solid brass. The central focus of each bookend is a carved oval of red agate—the most valuable and sought-after variety—depicting a blooming peony. The solid brass bases are in an elegant flared form, engraved to display curly peony foliage. In the middle of each base is an oval carving of natural nephrite jade repeating the phoenix motif, symbolizing prosperity and good fortune. Combining the highest quality gemstones, meticulous craftsmanship, and elegant design, these bookends are destined to become treasured family heirlooms.
