Rare, good condition and highly practical library stairs. These rare Neo-Gothic library stairs are another one of our recent great finds and this antique is the perfect example of the beauty and the quality of the workmanship that European artisans were known for around the turn of the century. Its practical size, perfect Gothic style, excellent condition and warm patina combined with its overal design makes these steps an absolute joy to own, use and look at. Especially the church window shaped motifs with the meaningful and also hand carved quatrefoil on top are truly stylish and as Gothic as it gets. For us to have found such a rarity in such good condition more than made our day. According to the former owner these steps were once purchased for and used in the library of a monastery. Thanks to the quality of the workmanship, the care of former owners and the strength of the solid tiger oak, these steps are as stable as the day they were made and they can easily hold grown ups weighing up to 190 pounds. Whether in use or on display as a furniture still-life (as we call it) this antique will look great and will never fail to impress.
