Contemporary Pair of Purple Amethyst Stone Obelisks

About the Item

This spectacular pair of obelisks is constructed of amethyst, a lavender to purple translucent semi-precious crystal that is a form of quartz found in many locations around the world and forms as a transparent, terminated crystals in all sizes of geodes, clusters and as single terminations. It is also found in vitreous masses and polished into wonderful specimens and personal talismans. The presence of manganese in clear quartz produces Amethyst, while additional amount of iron varies the purple coloration. Amethyst ranges in hue from pale red-violet to deep violet and may be transparent or opaque. Historically, pairs of Obelisks were placed at the entrances of ancient Egyptian temples symbolizing the Sun God Ra and acting as magical protection.
