Antique Ebonized Hand-Painted Mexican Wedding Trunk
About the Item
This gorgeous antique wooden wedding trunk from Michoacán Mexico dates to the early 1900s. A stunning two-piece set, it consists of the trunk and the base upon which it rests.
With an ebonized finish, this piece features elaborately hand-painted gold floral decoration and geometrics. The inside of the trunk is completely lined with green felt and is in excellent condition. With early hinges and dovetailed corners, we rarely see hand work of this nature so beautifully executed.
