Early 'Steamer' bag by Louis Vuitton.
About the Item
Note: this is the very rare, original version of Vuitton’s ‘Steamer’ bag, which remains in production to this day. Modelled on the original 19th century U.S mailbag, only the first few examples were made in the plain brown canvas (as is this one), the design changing to the LV ’Monogramme’ pattern canvas in 1904. Only the second example we have handled in 30 years.
