Rare Mid 19th Century Camphor Wood Travelling Trunk with Original Fitted Interior This stunning camphor wood travelling trunk from the mid-19th century is both functional and decorative. It features brass-bound construction with sturdy brass mounts and carrying handles, making it a durable piece from the era of campaign furniture. The trunk's interior boasts a central decorated door flanked by mirrored doors, providing additional storage space. The lid is securely held open by a brass stay. It includes a candle box with two drawers below and a central serving tray with pierced handle grips. The lovely fragrance of camphor is present. It features a warm, rich colour and patina, suitable for use as a decorative coffee table. The early timbers exhibit a deep colour and patination, making this trunk a rare find.
