Vintage Aero Pak Cardboard Suitcase
About the Item
The cardboard suit case has become an icon of 20th century history, bespeaking a myriad tales of emigration, displacement and homecomings. This suitcase, manufactured by Aero Pak of Petersburg Virgina, features a two yellow stripes on the exterior and two handles on alternating sides of the case so that it could be held both vertically and horizontally. When opened the case splits on a diagonal into two wedge shaped halves. The interior is lined in vinyl and features a removable double hanger bar upon which a mans coat and two pairs of slacks can hang without out fear of getting wrinkled in transit. This piece of luggage, however, carries more than slacks, it carries with it the history of American travel.
