About the Item
A striking mid-century modernist wall-mounted cloakroom panel in warm Teak veneer, fitted with elegant metal details.
The top features a streamlined Aluminium hat and luggage rack with rounded ends, complete with hanging hooks underneath. The central section holds a grid of original single metal coat hooks, likely in Aluminium allowing for jackets, coats and accessories.
At the lower left, two Nickel-plated Brass umbrella rings are paired with removable drip trays — a practical and stylish solution to collect and empty rainwater. A brushed metal plinth runs across the bottom for added protection and visual balance.
Mounts to the wall via two concealed screws hidden behind the Aluminium hat rack for a clean appearance.
This piece exemplifies post-war European modernist design: functional, architectural, and built with high-quality materials. Its warm Teak grain and rounded metal forms subtly echo late Art Deco and Streamline Moderne influences, while remaining firmly rooted in the clean-lined mid-century aesthetic.
