Contemporary Book Shelf Stand in Brazilian Hardwood by Leo Strauss
About the Item
The book shelf column is a piece of unique construction and design. Its geometric shapes, straight angles and simple lines, significant
characteristics of the modernist movement in Brazil, were a source
of inspiration for their creation.
As it occupies a small area in the environment, thanks to its shape, it
is possible to benefit from areas not previously used in the
decoration. The bookshelves are removable, which enables you to
alter the height between their gaps and expand the possibilities of
use.
In its artisan production, techniques of the traditional woodworking
are applied, having their structure fully executed through fittings and
only two holes are needed to attach it to the wall.
The leveler foot in brass was designed and developed especially for
this piece.
Exclusive use for internal areas, protected from direct sunsets.
*As it is a natural raw material, the availability of certain finishes may undergo periodic changes.

Oficio Leo Strauss
If, for a moment, you could dialog with a furniture, what stories it would tell?
It would talk about the memories of which it is a part, of and the invitations addressed to the touch, the glance and the feeling.
They would be narratives entangled by the textures of their raw materials, by their shades and the expression of their shapes.
As a graduate designer and a passionate craftsman, I intend to awaken the senses through unique works of art.
The multi-disciplinary techniques of traditional woodwork, combined with singular materials and design, make up the label of Ofício I Léo Strauss.
In the works, each detail is part of the whole and narrates these stories. Léo Strauss was born in 1975 in the city of São Paulo. He studied industrial design at the Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado where he had his first contact with the art and crafts workshops.
As an art director, at the beginning of the years 2000, he moved between graphic and digital languages, when the internet began to gain strength in advertising and influence the communication and arts market.
From the creative restlessness to the ability of creating handmade works, it is born the need to transform ideas and intentions in art and matter.
