About the Item

Hand Made Bespoke Pillow An exceptional Silk Velvet Panel Dating from late 16th early 17th Century . Italian or Spanish The magenta silk velvet embroidered in metallic and silk threads original woven metallic braids. The needlework is exquisite and considering the immense age, very well preserved Laid over 18th Century silk velvet together with 18th century silk brocaded with large pomegranates. Finished with 19th century metallic braid This magnificent museum worthy panel is over 400 years old and of course shows evidence of this. Antique, gently time worn condition. Overall very good for age and type Please study photographs as they do form a very important part of the description SIZE 20 inches x 20 inches (51cm x 51cm) S5366 FOOTNOTE All my pillows are hand made by myself incorporating wherever possible rare early textiles I travel extensively throughout Europe to locate beautiful hard to find textiles , some of which can be up to 400 years old and of course will show evidence of this immense age Rarely totally symmetrical , with perfectly straight lines, without wear ,evenness in colour etc I work as best I can to retain all of this inherent quirkiness to obtain a gently time worn faded grandeur appeal that only be achieved over centuries of use Your pillow will be perfectly imperfect.
