Gorgeous Antique Cushion 19th Century French Yellow Silk Brocade Applied 19th Century appliqué featuring central Silver and Gold metallic Pelican within a spangled star burst Edged with 19th century silvery gold metallic french braid and Silver tassel fringe The Pelican is exquisite , beautiful raised three dimensional Gold and Silver work Showing signs of general wear commensurate with age and use The Pelican appliqué at one time was salvaged from a religious chasuble and is in good antique condition it retains the central Magenta silk velvet ground Please study photographs carefully as they do form a very important part of the description SIZE 20 inches x 16 inches (51cm x 41cm) S4238 FOOTNOTE All my pillows are hand made by myself incorporating wherever possible rare early textiles I travel extensively throughout Europe to locate beautiful hard to find textiles , some of which can be up to 400 years old and of course will show evidence of this immense age. Rarely totally symmetrical , with perfectly straight lines, without wear ,evenness in colour etc I work as best I can to retain all of this inherent quirkiness to obtain a gently time worn faded grandeur appeal that only centuries of use an achieve Your pillow will be perfectly imperfect.
