Large Cushion or Pillow cover Traditional Hand-Worked Indian Vintage

About the Item

This is a dazzling colorful large, 24 x 24 inch pillow or cushion cover ( or wall hanging) all hand-worked from fabric strips of vintage sari's and other coverings in the traditional manner from India, Asia. The piece would probably have originated from Rajasthan in Northern India where it was made from a combination of exotic and vibrant patches or fabric strips in multiple flattering shades of gold, brown, fuchsia, maroon, blue, khaki, and green ensuring an exotic colorful finish. It has a detailed glitter thread and embroidered design on rich silk and cotton base. Any slight imperfections are indicative of the embroidered and handmade approach in the production of this exquisite item. As per the nature of sari fabric minor glitter thread shedding may occur. A few loose threads are present in keeping with fabric age, otherwise very good condition with new pillow backing incorporating overlapped envelope style opening in which to insert your pillow pad (not provided). Overall a very decorative piece with lots of uses as a pillow or cushion, throw, floor cushion or wall hanging. Please note: The first image and two others at the end show the cushion with an internal pad but the cushion internal pad or any wall hanging is not included in this sale.
