About the Item
This hand-crafted pillow was designed by a local Chicago artist and textile historian who lovingly repurposes the vintage fabrics, garments and embroidery fragments she collects during her travels. Down-filled and backed with off-white linen, this vibrant throw pillow is sewn with fragment of an early 20th century Uzbek suzani, a large, hand-embroidered textile by the nomadic tribes of Central Asia. Richly saturated with bright color, the floral embroidery is bold, upbeat and full of life, a beautiful example of this traditional craft.
